Sydney Utshab, incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act of 1984 NSW, is a young
community cultural organization whose objective is to organize cultural & religious events throughout
the year. In doing this it constantly strives to share the spirit of multi-culturalism in Sydney.
The proceeds from these events are either used for organizing future events, or donated for
worthwhile charitable causes. Sydney Utshab is a not-for-profit association.
In its first financial year 2008-09 Sydney Utshab had the following achievements to its credit:
· Used its internal artistic talents to produce right here in Sydney, all protimas required to perform
Durga Puja, in the same authentic style, scale & grandeur as done in India.
· Arranged a large scale Durga Puja attended by over 1000 people in Sydney. This event found
mention in 'Indian Link' and 'Kolkata Mirror' as one of the best organised events.
· Arranged several charitable fund-raising community activities such as family harbour cruises etc.
· Donated proceeds from its events to World Vision’s Global Food Crisis Appeal
Sydney Utshab has a youth wing & we strive to embed a spirit of compassion and understanding in our
youngsters. We strive to make them aware of the disadvantaged all around the world, quite in contrast
to the relative affluence they see here in Australia.
We the members of Sydney Utshab are committed to enjoy life by.... giving.
